Our History & Network
HEC Logistics traces back to 1989, when the business started life as Huddersfield Express Couriers — based first in Kirkburton, then Brockholes, building a reputation on local knowledge of the roads and businesses around Huddersfield long before "same-day" and "next-day" were industry-standard terms.
We joined the APC Overnight network in the mid-1990s, close to the very start of that network's existence, pairing our own local same-day fleet with a genuinely national next-day infrastructure. In 2002, the business formally incorporated as Huddersfield Express Couriers Ltd — still our legal name today.
By 2011, growth had outpaced what our Huddersfield-area sites could support. We moved to Castleford — specifically Wakefield Europort, chosen for its direct access to the M62 corridor — and adopted the trading name HEC Logistics that customers know today. That same access now lets us despatch consignments to any part of the UK or Europe with ease.
